Why Puppy Foundations Matters
Puppies go through natural developmental and fear periods that shape their behavior for life. Puppy Foundations meets your dog where they are — supporting confidence and preventing common issues before they start.
Stage 1: Early Foundations
Confidence . Exposure . Calm
8–12 weeks · 7-day stay
Puppies join us for one intentional week during their critical early development window. This immersive stay focuses on confidence, calm exposure, and learning how to exist comfortably within a family and farm environment.
Stage 2: Adolescent Reset
Rules . Structure . Boundaries
Around 6 months · Follows regular B&T schedule
This stage follows a one-week-on, one-week-off schedule. Puppies stay with us Monday through Friday, then return home to practice skills with their family before rejoining us for the second training week.
Stage 3: Fear Period Support
Confidence . Neutrality . Leadership
8–10 months · Follow regular B&T schedule
Using the same one-week-on, one-week-off structure, this stage focuses on confidence and neutrality in real-world environments. Private sessions are held in locations chosen by the owner.

Our Training
Philosophy
At Paws Up Vacay, training is built around structure, clarity, and real-world application. We focus on creating calm, confident dogs through consistency, clear communication, and intentional routines.
Our program emphasize:
✔️ balanced structure and accountability
✔️ calm state of mind before obedience
✔️ real-life exposure, not staged environments
✔️ owner education to support long-term success
We believe training should support the dog and the human — creating lasting habits that carry into everyday life.
Is PUV Training the Right Fit?
Great fit for dogs who:
✔️ need structure, routine, and consistency
✔️ benefit from calm leadership and guidance
✔️ struggle with manners, impulse control, or confidence
✔️ have owners willing to follow through at home
May not be the best fit for the dogs who:
❌ have unmanaged aggression or severe bite history
❌ require veterinary or medical intervention first
❌ have owners unwilling to participate in training follow-through
✨ What Makes Paws Up Vacay Different
Paws Up Vacay is more than just a dog training service — it’s truly our family life. Training here means your dog is part of our daily rhythm, with both of us, Mariah and Vinnie, guiding the process on different days. They get to experience training as part of our farm, alongside our daughter Georgie and our own pack of dogs.
✔️ home-style environment: Not a kennel or warehouse, but real home routines.
✔️ male & female handlers: Dogs work with both of us for balanced leadership.
✔️ family and farm energy: Exposure to real-life distractions, kids, and calm routines.
✔️ focus on calm behavior: We emphasize balanced, calm learning over overstimulation.
